The Opeedee community is, or perhaps was, located on the West banks of
the Wabash River two miles southeast of Newport, the county seat of Vermillion
County, Indiana.
Book includes over 100 of his letters, history, and poems
of his daughter, Alice Greenwood.
His life covers the span from 1814 -
1892, where he was active in law, large scale farming, flat boating to
New Orleans, growing cotton in Arkansas, membership in the Indiana state
Constitutional Convention of 1851, and four terms in the Indiana State
Senate. Hardcover, cover has minor surface wear, binding and inside pages
near mint. 2nd print, June 1974 noted on title page.
