1900, published by The Century Company, NY,
leather bound, with gold gilt lettering, decoration, and page edges,
as a
ten volume set. This nine volume set does not
include the Atlas, but does include
the Cyclopedia of Names and a huge amount of rare material.
Described by the publisher as "a work of universal
reference in all departments of knowledge."
These leather bound
volumes are 9.5" wide x 12 1/8" tall, and weigh an average 8.2 pounds each
(estimate of 76 pounds total).
Be aware that buyer will be responsible for all shipping
costs, and we plan to use UPS (or alternate shipping options discussed
with winning bidder).
Each volume is filled with fascinating
details of all things known to man up to the year 1900.
The leather bound covers have
age wear, mainly at the spine and edges. Three volumes have chip wear from
age at the spine, with one spine missing. Several of the covers
are loose, but still with the volumes. We found only one page
that had been fully torn in the back of one volume, else all pages
are fully readable. The inside pages and binding
are very good overall, with only minor foxing near the front and back
endpages.
